Good concealer for circles. What concealer can cover up bruises? What is the best concealer for dark circles under the eyes?

Traces of fatigue on the face, dark circles under the eyes, redness, pimples and other imperfections that so upset the modern woman can be neutralized by a wonderful cosmetic product - concealer. But in order to make the right choice when purchasing, you need to take into account all the specific properties of this product.

Criteria for choosing a good concealer

Consistency

There are two types of concealer textures:

  • paste-like product in a jar, palette or stick. Suitable for retouching freckles, age spots, pimples. It masks obvious imperfections well, lasts longer, but has a denser coverage;
  • a creamy product in a tube (sometimes with a brush or sponge). Designed to “eliminate” dark circles under the eyes, redness and facial wrinkles. Gives light coverage without weighing down makeup.

Important: Do not confuse concealer with other popular corrective products - corrector and highlighter. Concealer- a very light product that can cover large areas of skin (for example, the area around the eyes, the eyebrow area or the nose). It lightens the skin slightly, visually evens it out and is applied over foundation as a finishing touch to makeup.

Corrector is also designed to hide skin problems, but provides a completely opaque coating and is intended for spot application on serious imperfections. The purpose of a corrector is to completely cover the defect, often by using different shades of green, blue, orange, etc. It, like concealer, is effective for masking irritation and pimples, but it is used on smaller areas of the skin and only before applying foundation, otherwise the concealer will be noticeable on the skin.

Highlighter is able to brighten the skin, add radiance and distract attention from problem areas, but does not have a masking effect. However, there are also products that combine the properties of different corrective agents, as the manufacturer indicates in the product description.

Compound

Depending on the composition and effect on the skin, all concealers can be divided into caring products (provide camouflage + nutrition, hydration, ultraviolet protection) and special ones (not only mask the defect, but also fight its cause). Special concealers, due to their composition, are able to lighten age spots and freckles, improve blood circulation in the skin, smooth out facial wrinkles, etc. Light-scattering particles in the composition improve the effect of using concealer.

Palette of tones

Different brands can have a wide range of shades, or just a couple of universal tones that adapt to skin color. It’s impossible to say what to choose, you have to try. The color of the concealer should match your skin tone, but be half a shade lighter. Yellowish, pinkish, blue and green shades are designed to hide certain skin imperfections.

Concealer manufacturers: who is better?

Almost all well-known (and not so well-known) cosmetic companies have these small tubes or jars in their assortment. Among luxury concealers (RUB 1,500-3,000), the best reviews were received by products from Lancom, Dior, Shiseido, MAC, Chanel, Guerlain, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Bobby Brown and others. However, when purchasing them, you need to select the product itself more carefully: many expensive concealers can have a strong effect aimed at solving a specific problem. For example, Clinique is intended for extremely dry skin, and Estee Lauder is for mature skin after 40 years.

The mass market does not limit the choice of skin corrective products, but, on the contrary, makes it even more diverse. Good universal concealers can be found in the brands Max Factor, L'Oréal, Yves Rocher, Garnier (price 500-1500 rubles), as well as among more budget brands: Maybellin, Avon, Benefit, Oriflame, Vivienne Sabo, Artdeco, etc. (price 150-500 rub.). They provide acceptable camouflage of imperfections, but may adhere worse to the skin, clog in pores, and emphasize wrinkles.

Concealer is a cosmetic product for solving specific problems. Not only does it help hide blemishes and dark circles under the eyes, but it is also great for scars and various skin changes. Thanks to it, the skin will look healthy and radiant, and the face will gain freshness and radiance. We'll show you which one to choose from, so that it meets your needs and is tailored specifically to your skin.

Corrector for the skin around the eyes is mainly used to get rid of dark circles, bruises, bags and other “troubles” that accompany the natural process of aging and fatigue. It is important to know not only how to choose the best concealer, but also to be aware of how to apply it correctly and efficiently.

The article provides an overview of the best cosmetics for every taste and budget.

Popular types of eye correctors

First, let's look at what types of eye correctors there are and why the most popular of them are pencils and creams.

The pencil corrector has excellent covering properties and is suitable for visible blemishes. It can also be used together with concealing shadows, but it is better to check its consistency before using it so that after application it does not leave clear marks and does not emphasize wrinkles.

Liquid corrector is the most versatile. Effectively masks all imperfections, and thanks to its liquid, creamy form, it is better absorbed and does not leave stains on the skin. If we want to get a soft and more protective cosmetic product, we can combine it with a moisturizer or foundation.

In addition to these popular types, there are concealers in the form of powder, foundation, and makeup base. None of them have the versatility that is the secret to popularity.

What to choose and what consistency?

The answer to the question of what to choose, pencil or liquid foundation, largely depends on the personal preferences of the fashionista. After all, depending on the consistency of the concealer, its application will be more simple or, on the contrary, more complex.
Choosing a good eye concealer is not an easy task. This is not an impossible task, but it will require patience on our part as we have to try a lot of cosmetics before we find the one thing we need. Before making a choice, it is worth remembering that you need to choose the appropriate shade. It should be a tone lighter than the foundation, or better if it is a peach shade, which ideally copes with all blemishes on the face. On the other hand, too bright a shade or pink concealer will further highlight your dark circles instead of hiding them.

However, if you love brightening makeup, you should be careful when choosing a liquid concealer. Do not forget that you cannot apply a very thick layer of product to those places that we want to hide, as this can only increase their visibility.

It is also worth paying attention to its quality. The skin under the eyes is especially delicate and therefore requires appropriate care.

The concealer should have a light and smooth texture because the skin under our eyes is very thin and sensitive. A cosmetic product with a strong and thick consistency can further dry out the skin and weigh it down, which can lead to the rapid appearance of wrinkles.

How to apply concealer under the eyes?

Before applying concealer under your eyes, you should prepare accordingly.
The first step is to apply a light moisturizer. The best solution in this case is one that is quickly absorbed.

If you have little experience with makeup, choose a concealer with a liquid consistency - it is much easier to apply to your face. But do not forget that the main rule here is moderation. All correctors must be applied using a special brush. Outwardly, it resembles a powder brush, but differs in size - slightly smaller. A proven method is to apply tiny dots of concealer to problem areas and then spread it out carefully. After applying to the skin, it is worth applying powder so that it remains intact.

Eye concealer can work wonders. This is an indispensable product for our beauty and one of the most important parts of the cosmetic bag - both for women with the best skin and for those who have problem skin and age spots. Disguising these defects will illuminate our faces and knock off a couple of years, making us feel comfortable. So it's definitely worth having it on hand at all times.

Correctors, or concealers, are cosmetic products designed to disguise problem areas of the skin, even out color, hide fine wrinkles, brown spots and other defects. Products designed for the eye area are lighter in texture and often contain light-reflecting particles to create a healthy glow. The product does not contain mineral oils that cause swelling. Unlike facial concealer, eye corrector cannot be mattifying or drying to the skin; it always contains moisturizing agents. A high-quality product is delicate, plastic, it spreads easily over the face and is quickly absorbed.

You can find concealers for different skin types on sale. They differ in coating density, the presence of additional effects, as well as shades. The product can be packaged in jars or tubes; sometimes the kit includes a plastic spatula, which is convenient for removing the corrector from the package. Concealers in sticks and pens, as well as in bottles equipped with built-in applicators, are also popular. For dry skin, cream concealers and water-based liquid products packaged in tubes and bottles are suitable. Bold - thick correctors in a stick or pencil.

Some concealers contain additional beneficial additives: moisturizers, plant extracts, sunscreens. There are also two-phase products containing a colored camouflage agent and a nourishing balm. Typically, such products are produced in the form of sticks.

The corrector can have a flesh tint, but there are also colored options. For example, to disguise bruises, you can use a beige-pinkish concealer; red veins under the eyes will be hidden by a product with a green tint. White and pale pink creams can brighten the area around the eyes, giving the face freshness and youthfulness. Some makeup artists believe that it is more practical to choose correctors in yellowish tones. This product is suitable for most skin tones and covers any imperfections.

Advantages and disadvantages

Corrector for the area around the eyes has many advantages. It can be used either in combination with foundation or on its own. The product hides minor skin defects well, removes bruises, excessive pallor or redness, and slightly tightens problem areas. A high-quality concealer does not weigh down makeup and can be applied in 2 or even 3 layers.

The product is very economical. A small tube or stick will last for several months of daily use. The advantages include versatility. A soft corrector under the eyes can be successfully used for other areas of the face: the wings of the nose, forehead, chin. This product is airier and softer than dense camouflage pastes.

Despite the obvious advantages, concealers also have disadvantages. Some varieties can dry out the skin, so the area under the eyes should be well moisturized before using them. Concealers with a built-in brush need to be changed more often than products in tubes. Constant contact of the sponge with the skin promotes the growth of bacteria. This packaging option is not suitable for people with hypersensitive mucous membranes.

Color correctors require very careful application and careful shading. For beginners, it is better to work with a flesh-colored concealer that has a pronounced yellowish undertone. When purchasing, it is worth considering that correctors will not hide the swelling under the eyes.

Selection of the ideal option

A consultant in the store will help you choose the right corrector, but you can do it yourself. It is better to try the product on the inside of the wrist; this area is similar in density and color to the skin under the eyes. A good concealer should not go on too thickly. Its task is to delicately disguise imperfections without hiding the texture of the skin.

The product should blend well without forming lumps. A high-quality concealer seems to melt upon touch, instantly absorbing into the skin and leaving no greasy shine. You may need as many as two shades of concealer to cover up dark circles under your eyes. In this case, it is convenient to use a double-sided stick. First, a thin layer of colored camouflage is applied, and after it is absorbed, the problem areas are covered with a final yellowish-beige corrector.

It is important to choose the right shade of the product. A concealer that is too light will highlight the area under the eyes, making a woman look like a panda. Dark will emphasize wrinkles, make the look hard and tired. The best concealer is a shade or two lighter than your natural skin color. If you're choosing a colored concealer, choose one that's lightly tinted. Thick colored pastes are only good for a photo shoot; in everyday life they look artificial and are difficult to shade.

If possible, you should test the corrector in daylight and artificial light. Make sure that the product does not change shade and does not look like an alien stain on the skin. This is especially important for fair-skinned girls who find it difficult to find suitable foundations.

When choosing a corrector, you need to evaluate its other qualities. A good product has a very weak, unobtrusive fragrance. Concealers with strong scents can irritate your eyes. An unpleasant, rancid smell is a sign that the product has gone bad. Like other cream cosmetics, concealers should be kept cool, away from bright light and direct sunlight.

People with very sensitive skin should choose a product with a hypoallergenic formula. Before purchasing, be sure to check the expiration date. An expired product can cause irritation of the delicate skin around the eyes and even inflammation of the mucous membrane.

The Art of Makeup: Concealers in Action

To ensure that your makeup fits perfectly and all imperfections are reliably hidden, it is important to learn how to use correctors correctly. Before use, you need to cleanse your skin with a non-greasy lotion or toner. Then apply a small portion of serum under the eyes with a moisturizing or lifting effect. The choice depends on the type and condition of the skin. Fatty nourishing creams are not suitable; they can cause swelling of the eyes.

After the serum is absorbed, you can apply foundation to your entire face. A small amount of corrector is applied to the area under the eyes. The product must be carefully distributed with a brush, sponge or built-in applicator. Then it is carefully driven in with your fingertips. Application with soft patting movements guarantees a natural look, wrinkles will be reliably hidden. It is important to ensure that the concealer does not get on the mucous membrane. The product is not applied to the upper eyelid.

To reliably disguise bruises, the corrector can be applied in two layers.

The borders are carefully shaded so that the makeup looks as natural as possible. If necessary, the area under the eyes can be powdered. Very finely ground translucent loose powder is suitable; it is convenient to distribute it with a soft fan brush. There are special powders for the area around the eyes; they contain reflective particles and do not dry out the skin.

Another option for using concealer is mixing it with foundation. This technique is good for masking light defects, the makeup will be light and natural. A small portion of concealer is mixed with foundation and distributed over the area around the eyes with a sponge or fingertips. The skin must first be moisturized with gel, cream or serum. The sponge can be moistened with water; a damp sponge distributes the mixture into a thinner and more delicate layer. After masking, you need to lightly powder your face.

Huge stress in modern life makes itself felt not only in the form of fatigue, but also imprinted on the face in the form of dark circles under the eyes. At the same time, the beauty industry today is developing at the fastest pace, which leads to the emergence of many cosmetic products. They allow you not only to get rid of skin imperfections, but also to improve it, as well as correct your appearance.

That is why we can say without a doubt that makeup is a serious science that needs to be carefully studied. It provides a wide range of tools, among which one of the most important is concealer.

What it is?

Concealer- This is a dense foundation intended for the face. Thanks to this product, you can achieve radiant and smooth skin around the eyes, but the most important function of this product is to rid the face of imperfections such as swelling or so-called bruises under the eyes. As a highlighter, it will help make your eyes more expressive and open.

Peculiarities

Products like correctors are very versatile: They not only make the complexion more even, but also take care of the skin. For dry skin around the eyes, a type of concealer that will moisturize the skin and maintain an optimal moisture balance is suitable. Other types of this product actively fight imperfections, such as acne or rosacea.

It is also perfect for creating eyebrow makeup: after their shape is corrected and completed with a special pencil or lipstick, many makeup artists advise using a corrector in this area, because it will highlight the arch of the eyebrow and create a dramatic and sensual image.

Interestingly, it can also be used for eye make-up, especially for those who have oily eyelids.

For such women, there are special concealers that can not only even out the tone, but also prevent oily sheen on the skin. The mattifying effect it provides is truly effective, judging by the numerous positive reviews from girls who have tried this type of cosmetics.

And of course, speaking about the most important quality of the product, that is, its ability to mask some defects, it should be noted that thanks to the various color variations, the cosmetic product can easily cope with most problem areas. For example, it reduces swelling, covers purple circles under the eyes, and also relieves redness from inflammation.

Many concealers, thanks to their innovative formula, can even counteract the appearance of wrinkles! This is a real revolution in the process of self-care, which can now be combined with the creation of makeup. This became possible due to the expansion of the composition, which contains a large amount of nutrients that have a healing effect on the skin. Thanks to this, they can easily compete with foundations, of which there is a wide range on the beauty market.

Kinds

Based on the fact that today there are many different types of concealers that are aimed at solving various problems, if you encounter one of the difficulties described below, do not rush to run to a cosmetologist - perhaps some of them can be solved with the help of cosmetics.

First of all, I would like to note the so-called “correctors”, which are designed to mask imperfections in those areas of the face where the skin is thin and sensitive. Often, such products are liquid-based, but are equipped with a brush that can easily distribute the product over the skin, so you need to apply it pointwise. They are sold in a small tube or in an economical, neat package similar to lip gloss.

Such products have the lightest texture to disguise problem areas, however, there are also products that are endowed with strong pigmentation. And here it is important to understand in what cases to use certain means. More concentrated ones are suitable when there is a need to hide puffiness under the eyes. Thanks to the large amount of pigment, the product helps to look flawless.

The area around the eyes, as we know, requires more serious care than simply “covering up” imperfections. It is important to remember that it is necessary to provide comprehensive care, that is, eat right, drink the required amount of water, get enough sleep and rest. Of course, many can now say that the modern pace of life does not always allow us to fully comply with these instructions, because it requires a lot of time. It is in the absence of this that most women turn to concealers in the hope of finding care and a positive, healing effect on the skin. Many people today know that they take care of their face no worse than creams.

When we talk about different types of treatments, the ones that immediately come to mind are hydrating concealers, which are supposed to maintain the moisture balance in the skin cells. This type of product is the most optimal because it allows the skin to maintain a fresh and healthy appearance. Without clogging into pores and microscopic wrinkles, it does not create a mask effect, but only envelops the face with the lightest veil. It needs to be applied from the outer corner of the eye to the inner, which will then allow it to be evenly distributed between the growth area of the lower eyelashes and the nostril area. In view of all these advantages, a concealer of this type has long gained enormous popularity among the fair half of humanity.

There are age-related products that have recently gained a foothold in the beauty market, but have already acquired a large number of regular customers.

Basically, these are women 40+, who devote their main care to the skin around the eyes to combating expression lines. These concealers, already dubbed “new generation products”, contain many different nutrients and extracts of healing herbs and oils.

Recently, correctors have appeared in the form of pencils that help disguise blood stars and vessels, acne, and also have a drying effect. This is possible due to the fact that the texture of the product is very dense, one might even say hard. Such products are especially noteworthy in that, due to their texture and form of release, they can perfectly mask redness at the wings of the nose. An important advantage is that after application there are no traces or unshaded spots left.

Correctors are also available for sale in the form of multi-colored palettes. They are designed to be used all over the face. These multiple shades can handle multiple tasks at once, which is why they are so popular among professional makeup artists. Due to their versatility, they perfectly even out the complexion, but to achieve this, they must be applied using professional accessories, such as special brushes or applicators.

Compound

Products that care for the skin around the eyes consist not only of masking elements, but also of various nutritional ingredients. In order to choose a suitable corrector, first of all you need to get acquainted with its composition.

Among mineral concealers, the main ingredients are vitamins and antioxidants. They allow you to take a comprehensive approach to caring for the area around the eyes. The herbal ingredients included in the composition ensure rapid healing of acne and inflammation, as they have medicinal antibacterial properties. Those with problematic skin should pay attention to products that contain salicylic acid, because it is an effective and powerful component that helps deeply cleanse pores. For those who have hypersensitive skin that does not tolerate low-quality cosmetics, it is important to buy hypoallergenic products that prevent negative reactions to the effects of cosmetics.

Interestingly, there are correctors with reflective particles in their composition.

Many will wonder: why, because such products are designed to hide imperfections, and not show them off. Such concealers have a denser texture, which ensures complete elimination of unwanted pigmentation, and they also reflect light due to their shine. As a result, problem areas will go unnoticed.

Palette

Due to the fact that concealers have different purposes and different textures, this is reflected in the color range that the modern cosmetics market offers to customers.

Among the assortment you can find any necessary shade of the product: from green to pink; However, what is most striking is the variety of warm shades.

They are presented according to a gradient principle, taking into account the saturation of the product. There are bright burgundy, red, and delicate peach shades. Of course, it’s worth choosing a palette of correctors based on the problem that has arisen on the skin around the eyes.

Particularly popular among girls are brilliant products that allow not only to hide defects in the epidermis, but also to refresh the face, giving it a healthy glow.

What color is needed for what?

Many girls naively believe that the classic corrector color is beige. However, this assumption is completely wrong, since the color range of concealers is quite extensive.

To give the skin the most natural color possible, concealers come in a variety of colors, from blue to wine.

Manufacturers always proceed from the areas for which the product is intended, as well as the characteristics of these facial areas. They also borrowed color rendering techniques: It is known that to obtain natural shades it is necessary to use two opposite ones.

Depending on the area of use of the corrector, different shades are used. Let's figure out how to choose the color of this product depending on the problem area and its inherent defects, because if you skillfully and artfully select the right concealer, taking into account the color and consistency, then not a single pimple or wrinkle will be noticeable.

From dark circles

To use concealer under the eyes to get rid of dark circles, you need to understand that only light correctors that hide dark pigments on the skin can “cover” such imperfections. This can be done using yellow, peach or orange concealers, which must be shaded after application. It is important to know that beige colors are not suitable for this occasion, as they are not very bright due to the lack of strong pigmentation. Because of this, it will be impossible to get rid of the problem: the corrector will only lighten this area, making the circles no longer brown, but grayish, earthy in color. Obviously, this is not a solution, because getting this color under the eyes will make the girl look extremely sickly.

For bruises

Yellow concealer will help get rid of bruises, because it perfectly masks cool shades, which are blue and purple. Lemon rich color corrector neutralizes defects, eliminates signs of fatigue and refreshes the epidermis, giving it an even tone.

This tone is also very useful because it will help hide the capillaries, which are most visible under the eyes just below their outer corners.

Spider veins will also help hide the green tint of the corrector, but in combination with yellow it will give the most powerful effect.

Pink, red and purple correctors will help get rid of yellow and earthy pigment spots on the face. Such products are often sold separately in the form of lipsticks, which are convenient to apply and shade.

Against bags

This problem- one of the most common in adulthood. To solve it, you need to buy so-called age-related products that help maintain skin elasticity.

To achieve a positive result, you need to turn to a wide range of concealers. A combination of a primer and several dense and pigmented concealers in nude shades, such as ivory or dusty rose, will give the best effect.

Review of popular companies

The actual boom in beauty products has given rise to a huge range of concealers produced by various companies. In order to make the right choice among the whole variety of cosmetic products, you need to familiarize yourself with the most popular correctors.

The undisputed leaders in neutralizing unwanted pigmentation of the skin around the eyes and not only are anti-inflammatory products. Yves Saint Laurent "Touche Eclat". They wonderfully refresh the skin, cleverly disguise imperfections, and also distract attention from unfortunate defects. However, such visible and pigmented areas as bruises or dark circles cannot be covered by the products due to their light and thin texture, so it would be optimal to combine these products with other, denser ones. The most noticeable disadvantage is the price, which is about 1,400 rubles. Other professional products from Nyx, Shiseido and Inglot have a similar effect.

Company Max Factor and its Mastertouch Concealer- one of the most sought-after concealers on the market, because the price-quality ratio is simply gorgeous. It is sold as a pencil, with a small, neat applicator that allows it to be perfectly distributed under the eyes. It contains reflective particles that allow you to use the corrector as a highlighter.

Analyzing mass market products such as Lumene, Bielita-Vitex, L'Oreal, Maybelline, we note that they are of very high quality despite the affordable price.

They are thick enough to cover dark areas under the eyes and do a great job of smoothing out the skin. Interestingly, Maybelline products can be used even after laser interventions on the face, for example, after resurfacing. A nice addition is the affordable price.

Companies Vivienne Sabo, Becca, Estee Lauder, Sisley are not particularly well known among Russian buyers, but their products do an excellent job of their functions and take care of the skin around the eyes.

How to choose?

In order to choose the optimal concealer, you need to take into account your skin type and its condition, as well as the problem that exists on the epidermis. The texture and color will also depend on the degree of soreness and damage to the dermis. For hypersensitive skin prone to negative reactions, it is advisable to choose only hypoallergenic products with a light powdery consistency.

Makeup artists advise choosing a beige concealer tone that is one shade lighter than your natural skin color, but the most important thing is to test the product on the skin of your wrist before purchasing.

It is necessary to start not from price, but from age and individual characteristics.

Price

Companies like Maybelline produce budget cosmetics, but this does not mean that their products are of poor quality - far from it. In many ways they can compete with more expensive products.

How to apply it correctly?

You need to mask each zone separately based on the characteristics of the skin, and only after that apply the main tone.

What to replace it with?

Sometimes it happens that the necessary product is not at hand, so the question arises: What other products can come to the rescue to replace under-eye concealer? To do this, you can use BB creams, which are famous for their excellent skin care, including their neutralizing effect.

Having tested about a million concealers that cost no more than 1,200 rubles, we found out who is really a friend who can hide all our cracks, and who is just pretending.

As part of the large-scale experiment “A Month on Budget Cosmetics,” Yulia, Lena and Yana Z. tested a few concealers and correctors.

This is approximately how much:

And so much more:

Oh, and here it is:

Well, and about 20 other little things that were not included in the shooting because our photographers ran out of film :)

Each of us chose our favorites and outsiders, depending on our own requirements.

Julia: “I use concealers 100% of the time for the area around the eyes, plus sometimes on the wings of the nose. And for me two parameters are important - good masking abilities and some light reflection. If the first is adequately implemented, then you can do without the second :) In the luxury range, the most dense disguise is provided mainly by concealer-pucks, like my favorite. But in the budget segment, products of a similar format that I came across in stores were either of a terrible color (yellow, Rially?..), or of terrible quality (when you point your finger you understand that they suffer from a lack of plasticity).

I tested mainly classic concealers with a brush or applicator. Many of them were powerless against my bruises - for example, Dream Lumi touch, Maybelline, Healthy Mix Concealer, Bourjois, Hydro Miracle, BeYu, Physician’s Formula, Eva Mosaic, both L’Etoile. In general, finding a really well-pigmented budget concealer is quite a quest.”

Lena: “I'm more concerned about puffiness than dark circles, so concealers can't help me much. Although there are days when you can’t live without them. In such cases, I usually reach for Erborian BB Eye, or Estee Lauder Double Wear, or Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer, or Skincolor De La Mer (in order of increasing coverage). Among the budget ones, I was looking for a universal one for every day: with light-medium camouflage and light reflection, so that it would not turn yellow or crease. She didn’t ask me to iron my clothes or make coffee in the morning - but few people coped with even the minimum requirements.”

Yana Z.: “Concealers and correctors are the products without which I cannot imagine my make-up. I can imagine even without foundation (some concealers can easily be applied all over the face, mixed, for example, with oil or cream) - but without them, I can’t, don’t even ask. I have bruises (though not severe) and wrinkles under my eyes, capillaries and all sorts of other red abominations on my cheeks), and a small pigmented spot on my right cheekbone at the top. And below on the cheekbones there are some spots that can be considered pigmented, or can be mistaken for uneven coloring. If you cover it all up, I’m beautiful :). Just have to cover it up!) I’m not looking for concealers with the most bulletproof camouflage, I simply don’t need one, I value more good light-reflective abilities, plasticity and durability.”

We divided all concealers/correctors according to the degree of concealment. Durability, density and ability for light reflection/blurring were taken into account as additional factors.

Light degree of camouflage

  1. Concealer Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue, Bourjois (RUB 515)- “Not the highest covering power, but good brightening and reflective qualities, it is perceived very comfortably by the skin,” - Yana Z.
  2. Concealer Nordic Chic Under Eye, Lumene (950 RUR)— “More like an illuminator than a concealer. And it maximizes wrinkles rather than dark circles. But, if the bruises are not critical, it will make them less noticeable. The best reflective characteristics, maximum comfort, and the case when the declared care qualities are really felt,” Yana Z.
  3. Concealer Miracle Touch, Art-Visage (RUB 149)“Even before the project with budget cosmetics, I came across a good concealer at a ridiculous price - something like 150 rubles. Because of my absent-mindedness, it was hopelessly lost. I wanted to get a new one, but the popular shades at the Golden Apple were sold out. If you meet him, keep in mind that he’s really not bad.” – Lena
  4. Concealer-primer for eyelids Super CC Blurring CC Eye Cream SPF30, Physician’s Formula(RUB 799) – “Not really a concealer. There is practically no camouflage, and that is due to deblurring. Not quite universal, I understand. But it has a strong SPF 30. I usually apply it to both the lower and upper eyelids to slightly even out the skin color, hide small blood vessels and prevent the sun from killing precious collagen and elastin,” Lena.

Average degree of camouflage

  1. Sport Addicted Sweat Resistant Cream Concealer, Pupa (RUB 770)“It doesn’t look super thick, but the dark circles under your eyes don’t show up even if you skate for an hour. The collection is limited, but it’s still on sale, if you’re looking for exactly this, hurry up,” Yana Z.
  2. Mastertouch All Day Concealer, Max Factor, (400 RUR)“In an incomprehensible way, it covers almost all blemishes, including redness and bruises (not the most radical ones, but still) and lasts all day like nailed down. I forgave him for the not very aesthetic packaging,” Yana Z.
“At first I made a mistake and took it in the shade 306 Fair - and, despite the name, it was yellow. 303 Ivory turned out to be what we needed. A good basic concealer, I understand those who recommended it to me. It will not seriously cover up bruises under the eyes, but if this problem is not severe, then you can take it. The light reflection is good,” – Yulia
  3. Perfect Teint Concealer, Artdeco (RUB 671)- “The only concealer that suited me out of all the heaps of recently released ones. It has enough pigment to cover up not too pronounced under-eye circles. It doesn't fade out like some subtle reflectors, but it's not noticeable on the skin. The fifth shade is quite light, without yellowness or pink pigment. It differs from Estee Lauder in its more matte finish and dry consistency,” Lena.
“It won’t work on severe bruises the first time, but the good thing is that it can be layered for a thicker coverage. True, then it becomes somewhat noticeable. It wasn’t suitable for my purposes, but if your bruises are not so severe, you might like it,” Yulia.
  4. Concealer Concealer, Misslyn(609 rub.) – “Workhorse. Excellent light shade 03, good texture (not dry, comfortable), slight light reflection. You can layer it for greater coverage density, but be careful, otherwise it will start to roll into folds,” Yulia.

High degree of camouflage

  1. Cover&Hiding Liquid Concealer, Holika Holika (RUB 475)– “According to my feelings, it is close to Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, only slightly less covering and a little more liquid (Nars feels creamier). It provides noticeable camouflage of bruises, and my friends stop telling me when they meet me, “Why are you so pale.” Naturally, you have to pay something for such pigmentation: the concealer can get stuck in wrinkles over time. Fortunately, it does not freeze tightly and can be smoothed back out simply with your finger. (But you will have to remember this necessity),” Yulia.
  2. Concealer True Match La Touche Magique, L’Oreal Paris (RUB 665). “The concealer surprised me - it hides bruises very well! Less pigmented than Holika Holika so requires more layering. But it is creamier, and therefore practically does not dry out. Plus the light reflection is significant,” – Yulia.
  3. Concealer Artclass The Camouflage, Too Cool For School, (974 RUR)— “Plasticity — 5 points, hiding power — 5+, durability — also good. I don’t recommend applying it under the eyes - it will clog where it shouldn’t. But if there is a pimple or a small spot, great. He saved me once on the set, when my chin suddenly blossomed, like when I was 17,” Yana Z.
“The most successful concealer I’ve tried on a budget. You can leave it to me alone and I will be happy -). Here you have both dense camouflage and excellent light reflection and light scattering. It covers bruises with a bang (I don’t agree that it shouldn’t be applied under the eyes - it should!) It practically doesn’t dry out and almost doesn’t form wrinkles. I found only one minus with it, and that’s a nitpick: you can’t cry in it -) After conjunctivitis, tears constantly flow from me, but the concealer is persistent, as a result, some of it is washed off, some stubbornly remains in place, and this is noticeable. But it’s unlikely that concealer is to blame for my conjunctivitis.) Plus, it does a good job of masking problems in other areas of the face,” Yulia.
  4. - “It has surprisingly good coverage (from such a liquid product - it flows out through the ball! - I never expected that), and it is not flat-matte. True, the shade let me down - even my light one is yellow. If you are darker than me, it’s worth taking a closer look,” - Yulia.

For masking capillary vessels and other red “imperfections”

  1. Color Correcting Liquid Concealer, Essence, (RUB 210) –“It’s quite liquid, somehow I can’t even believe that something like this can cover something. However, it can - and even quite serious redness at the wings of the nose. And he himself will become transparent, and will not betray his presence in any way. Doesn’t dry out, goes well with any foundation,” Yana Z.
  2. Magic Pen Concealer Redness Cover, Covermazing 2, Holika Holika(temporarily out of stock on the Russian website) – “It also copes well with redness. But the format is not very convenient for this - too much product is squeezed onto the brush at one time. Enough to turn red boiled crayfish into living green crayfish again, at least visually :)” - Yana Z.

Universal

  1. Palette of concealers and correctors Infaillible Total Cover, L’Oreal Paris (RUB 1,190)“Five shades. Lavender-violet - against general dullness and brownish-red wreaths, green - for capillaries and other redness, three shades of more or less flesh color - pigmentation of varying degrees of severity, plus contouring the wings/back of the nose and highlighting the nasolabial folds. All shades are quite flexible and transparent in a good way - that is, purple brightens and does not remain as a sovereign stain, green minimizes redness on the cheekbones, but does not reflect green itself” - Yana Z.
