1. Open Word and select "New document" or just open an existing file. Go to tab "Insert".

How to edit a formula created with the Microsoft Equation add-in

As mentioned at the beginning of the article, earlier Equation 3.0 was used to create and modify formulas in Word. So, the formula created in it can be changed only with the help of the same add-in, which, fortunately, has not disappeared from Microsoft's word processor either.

1. Double click on the formula or equation you want to change.

2. Make the necessary changes.

The only problem is that the advanced functions for creating and modifying equations and formulas that appeared in Word 2010 will not be available for similar elements created in earlier versions of the program. To eliminate this shortcoming, you need to convert the document.

1. Open the section "File" on the Quick Access Toolbar, and select the command "Convert".

2. Confirm your actions by clicking "OK" upon request.

3. Now in a tab "File" select a team "Save" or "Save as"(in this case, do not change the file extension).

Note: If the document was converted and saved in the Word 2010 format, the formulas (equations) added to it will not be editable in earlier versions of this program.
